This issue of Mountain Record—a memorial tribute to Daido Roshi's life and teachings—takes its title from the English translation of Roshi's dharma name. It is also in the opening line of one of his favorite teachings, The Faith Mind Poem:

The Great Way is not difficult for those who have no preferences.

These writings afford us the opportunity to see Roshi through the eyes of his three successors: Myotai Sensei, Shugen Sensei, and Ryushin Sensei, and to encounter and honor him through the memories and reflections of his closest dharma siblings and friends.
