I'm disabled in such a way that while I can walk and lift, I can't sit down on the floor. This presented a problem with my prayers and meditation and also with getting down onto the floor with my baby. I tried using sofa cushions but they did not work very well. So I purchased a Mountain Seat Zabuton and one of the Monastery Store's kneeling benches and had them shipped here to Scotland. Well! This is the best sitting/kneeling cushion I have ever encountered and well worth not only the price but also the shipping! It is heavy and thick and very sturdy. I purchased a green cover for the cushion to keep it clean and it looks very nice in my livingroom. I'm going to have to get another one for guests to sit on when they visit!

I don't think that I could manage long retreats without the Mountain Seat Zabuton. I keep hoping that I will see a traveling version (with handles on either side to carry) so that I can more easily bring it to long retreats. Please consider this? I love the one on which I sit daily, but for long hauls I really have difficulty transporting it.
As well, I would love to see a visco foam insert in a half moon zafu; the shape of that zafu really helps my knees stay below my hips, but the ultimate comfort (a foam insert) is not to be found in that shape. Blessings to you all!

Just returned from a three month monastic practice period at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center and want to thank you so much for your wonderful Mountain Seat Zabuton! It was pleasure to have such a comfy seat which relieved the pressure points on the feet, knees, and ankles and I am recommending it to everyone. A note on the zafu: as I find buckwheat hulls uncomfortable and sit low to the ground, I created a lowrider zafu custom to my posture by removing the buckwheat hulls from the Mountain Seat zafu and stuffing it with some kapok. I recommend that you either sell the round memory foam inserts separately for such custom zafus or make a kapok/foam combo zafu. At any rate, I am one grateful monk!

The cushions are ok, the foam stops the butt from feeling every crunchy buckwheat hull but the zabuton really makes a big diference in the screaming ache of the arthritic knee...pricey but worth the investment.
