Touching the Heart of Intimacy
By the time we reach adulthood, most of us have lost touch with our playfulness. Inundated with complicated games and entertainment, organizing our free time with rigorous schedules, we seem unable to establish contact with our hearts, to touch others simply and completely with our attention and caring. This sunny and cheery video, emerging out of a workshop for children and their
parents held at Zen Mountain Monastery, captures the spirit of Original Play. The weekend retreat was led by Fred Donaldson, the pioneer of Original Play techniques that present play as the basic, unconditioned activity of the world. The Mind of Play was produced and directed by David Tapper, who has twice won Peabody Awards, and edited by Jerry Siegel, a long-time editor at CBS
and 60 Minutes.
