This superb documentary on the work of Andy Goldsworthy grants us entry into the intimate world of a rare and unique artistic vision. Specializing in what he entitles, "earthworks," Andy creates landscape sculptures in dynamic relationship with time and environment. Using rocks, leaves, sticks, icicles and other elements provided by the immediate ecosystem, his beautiful compositions are not meant to endure. Rather, in harmony with their environment, they are completely subject to the conditions of their landscape. Reminding us that the wind and water do not differentiate between "art" and "tree", Andy invites a surrender to impermanence that is attentive, responsible and joyous. DVD.
