Attachment to views causes vast suffering in the world. Every day people are killed over political, economic, and religions views. Shugen Geoffrey Arnold, Sensei encourages us to question our attachment to views within our daily lives. How many arguments would be be avoided if we would simply recognize our underlying desire to be affirmed? How often are we more concerned about getting our point across than the feelings of others with whom we are communicating? By seeing the consequences of attachment to views in our own life and letting go of these attachments to social, political, and even spiritual views, we can begin to uproot rampant aggression within the world.
