Gateless Gate, Case 41: Bodhidharma's Peace of Mind
Our hunger to seek the truth needs to be compounded by our perseverance. We need to have faith that our minds can be at peace, and that the harmony that we see in the natural world can be what we experience in our lives. At the same time, faith is not enough. There is real, persistent effort involved, and the stories handed down to us emphasize this point again and again. We are already a buddha, peace is already the nature of everything, but we must practice to see this is so. When the mind is at peace, the world is at peace.
