One of the most frequent teachings in the Mountains and Rivers Order is simply trust yourself. When we first begin practicing, a teaching like this might seem clear and obvious. "Trust yourself" can sound deceptively simple. It can take years of practice and training before we begin to really question ourselves—to wonder and inquire deeply what it really means to trust the self. Nobody—not even our teacher—can give it to us; it doesn't come from the outside. So what is it?
