From the Record of the Teachings of Master Zhao: Zhaozhou's "Mind of Good and Bad"
The fundamental question of spiritual practice is: "How do I live this life?" From a Buddhist perspective, the question is: "How do I live this life with you?" The Buddha realized our nature as one of absolute harmony, and yet we believe we are different from each other. Every aspect of our suffering comes from this belief in and attachment to difference, but we don't have to stay stuck in old patterns. When we share our lives with others on the spiritual path, we have the opportunity to practice harmony and to understand that in the ground of being there are no differences.
