Koans of the Way of Reality: Daiyang's "Formless Place of Realization"
All the great discoveries of science have been utterly irrational. From Newton to Einstein to those on the cutting edge of today's science, true geniuses always take a leap of consciousness that cannot be explained. Paradoxically, it's only when we get utterly frustrated that we can finally access this fresh aspect of our minds. We need to get so utterly stuck in the rut of our linear thinking, of our analysis and rationality, that something else is able to break through. Zen practice is a process for uncovering our inherent wisdom and learning to trust ourselves-it's just a matter of getting out of our own way.
