True Dharma Eye Case 241: Xuansha Hears the Sound of a Swallow
In the depths of winter's paucity, it seems inconceivable that spring will ever arrive. And yet every year the world comes to life again, and we watch in amazement as crocuses push through barren ground into the air. When we examine ourselves and our years of conditioning, our seemingly intractable patterns of body, speech, and mind, it seems likewise inconceivable that we could ever push through to our true nature. But we can, and we do. By diligently practicing, by trusting our unseen nature, we can experience the bloom of enlightenment. When we discover what it means to really embrace this life, we find we are able to embody our inner radiance just as the spring embodies its own luminous nature.
