Sansheng’s Golden Fish That Has Passed through the Net

The question posed in this koan—what nourishes one who has attained complete freedom?—is one worth considering deeply. Who doesn’t wonder what it will be like once they are enlightened? Often, this question betrays our desire to be somewhere else, or be someone else—anything but the reality we find ourselves in. But the teachings continuously point us back to the place where we are, right now.
