I have had chronic knee problems for many years and recently underwent surgery. For years I have tried everything from sitting with small cushions, soft cushions, tall cusions and firm cushions, and nothing has ever worked. Buckwheat cushions were too firm with no give; putting a lot of pressure on my back and forcing me to compensate in my knees. The kapok cushions were too soft and would squish down over the course of a period, not providing enough support. For this reason I have never been able to sit cross legged and have always used a seiza bench. About a year ago, my wife and I began using the Mountain Seat cushions and for the first time in my life I am able to sit cross legged. The cushion adjusts to the pressure I put on it and responds with just enough support to take the load off of my knees and back. I cannot state in more emphatic terms how much I love this cushion!
