DC Video represents Dharma Communications' commmitment to staying on the cutting edge of technology. Our goal is to reach those who would otherwise not have access to Buddhist teachers and teachings. Our state of the art on-line and off-line editing facilities use the lastest technology, giving us the capacity for digital editing, animation, titling, sound and music. Our experience enables us to produce documentary, artistic, and training videos through all stages, from conception and filming to packaging and distribution.
Mountains and Rivers is an award winnning video by John Daido Loori, Roshi that combines stunning visual images, the sounds of nature, an original score and a reading of thirteenth century Zen Master Dogen's Mountains and Rivers Sutra. The Heart of Being follows students though the process of receiving the Precepts: the moral and ethical teachings of Zen Buddhism. Lotus in the Fire highlights the unique challenge of Lay Practice by taking us into the lives of six lay Zen students. Now I Know You, tells the story of Taizan Maezumi, Roshi, the founder and first abbot of our mainhouse, Zen Mountain Monastery.
Training videos offer specifc instruction on aspects of Zen Practice. We have recently refilmed and edited, our best selling video set: Introduction to Zen Meditation and Entering the Mountain Gate: Essentials of Zen. Introduction to Zen Meditation provides detailed instructions for and demonstrations of sitting postures and beginning breath exercises. Essentials of Zen is a comprehensive spiritual overview and guide to spiritual practice.
